A Different Look at...Frescati -
A Performative Walk in Two Acts.
If we look around, what do we see? What do the monuments and the places surrounding Stockholm University tell us? When were the monuments erected, why and by whom? How were the places named, what do they tell us today?
Building on research made during the project ”In Memoriam/In Futurum” (2021), Karolina Aastrup was invited to curate the second part of the performative art walk “A Different Look at...Frescati” in relation to the exhibition “This Land 4 All” by Hanni Kamaly then on view at Accelerator.

To this end, a sound piece, ”Jag går i cirklar för att komma fram till dig”, by artist Malin Lin Nordström was commissioned and presented as part of the experience connecting the act of walking to deep time and historical layers in the landscape.
On arrival at Lappkärret, a conversation between Karolina Aastrup and archaeologist Jonas Monié Nordin took place focusing on the Sámi presence in the history of Stockholm and its possible connection to the name ”Lappkärret”.
